Tsinghua China Law Review

Tsinghua China Law Review encourages scholars, legal practitioners and young, promising academics from all backgrounds to submit articles on topics relating to Chinese law or other legal issues that pertain to China.

There are no length requirements, and submissions may be of any type, including articles, essays, notes, comments, and book reviews. Tsinghua China Law Review will select the highest quality manuscripts for publication.

Fields of Publication: Original academic discussion of all issues relating to China’s law, legal economy, and society

Presentation:
Articles must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 150–200 words.
Manuscripts must be submitted in English, MS-Word file, A4 12 point, and Times New Roman.
Copy should be double-spaced and on one side of the page only. The first paragraph after a heading or a new sub-division should be flush to the margin. Subsequent paragraphs should be indented.
Footnotes should be marked clearly in the text in numeric order after a point of punctuation (…possible to resist..1), and listed at the bottom of the relevant page.

Citation Style:
Tsinghua China Law Review uses The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th edition). Please refer to www.legalbluebook.com for detailed information on citation style.
For Chinese-language sources, in addition to providing citations in Chinese text, please also include Pinyin romanization. Other rules to supplement the Bluebook rules, please include citations for Chinese language sources the translated English titles. This translation may be provided by the cited author in the original source, by the author of the article that is citing the source, or by the Tsinghua China Law Review editorial staff. For the purposes of legal research uniformity, the journal deems it important that the reader knows whether or not the English title in a citation is contained in the original.

Headings：
The main headings should be centered and numbered I, II, III, etc.; first letters of main words should be in upper case.
The next level headings should be aligned on the left and be lettered A, B, C, etc.; first letters of main words should be in upper case.
The next level should be aligned on the left and be numbered 1, 2, 3, etc. Only the first letter of the heading should be in upper case.

Spelling:
A characteristic feature is prefering the use of -ize (American English spelling) over the alternative –ise (British English).

Quotations:
Quotations within the text are enclosed within single quotation marks, and quotations within quotations are given double quotation marks. If quotations are three lines or more then block quotes must be used; they should be separated from the rest of the text and signaled with a colon, indented from the left margin deeper than the paragraph indentation, and should not be enclosed within any quotation marks.

Color:
Any figures submitted to the journal in color can be published in color online at no cost (unless the author specifically requests that their figures be in black and white online). Authors may choose to also publish their figures in color in the print version of the journal, however, this may incur additional costs to the author. Authors will be asked to approve this cost after the article is accepted for publication. Black and white figures will be printed without additional cost, but figures that may be converted from color to black and white should be well prepared with high contrast, and must have a resolution of at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) at their final size. Figure captions must be suitably worded to apply to both the print and online versions of the article.

Copyright and Publication Agreement:
Upon receipt of accepted manuscripts authors will be invited to complete an online copyright license to publish form. Please note that by submitting an article for publication the author is verifying as the corresponding/submitting author and that Tsinghua China Law Review will retain the email address for the purpose of communicating with the author about the article. If the article is accepted for publication, then Tsinghua China Law Review will contact the author using the email address used in the registration process. The author also agrees to notify Tsinghua China Law Review immediately of any subsequent changes in contact details.
